New Lodge, Windsor
About New Lodge
New Lodge is a large historic mansion located adjacent to the western edge of Windsor Great Park and approximately four miles west of Windsor. The current mansion, built on the site of Henry VIII’s hunting lodge, was constructed in 1857 in the neo gothic style. The estate has benefitted from a 10-year restoration showcasing both its original features as well as more modern spaces.
The mansion sits in magnificent grounds of manicured gardens, parkland and woodland. It further benefits from a sweeping driveway and a modern outdoor swimming pool and tennis court as well as estate cottages and ancillary accommodation.
There has been a building on the site since the sixteenth century and the current mansion was build in the mid nineteenth century. The Van de Weyer family owned the home until 1915, the family established close royal connections and Queen Victoria and her family were frequent visitors to New Lodge. More recently it has been used as a clinic, a Barnardo’s home and offices. It is now used once more as a magnificent family home with original features.
